In Ukraine, control of the overall weight standards of vehicles is resumed
The State Service of Ukraine for Transport Safety (Uktransbezpeka) resumes control over compliance with the weight and size standards of road transport. The department announced this on its Facebook page.
As noted, the closure of Ukrainian seaports, caused by the military invasion of Russia, significantly increased the load on the roads of the southern regions, in particular the Odessa region. At the same time, the monitoring of vehicles, carried out during April by the Department of State Supervision (Control) of Uktransbezpeka, revealed a systemic non-compliance by carriers with weight and size standards, which negatively affects the condition of the road surface and makes it difficult to move on the roads.
“In this regard, since May, Uktransbezpeka has resumed monitoring compliance with weight and size standards. Particular attention will be paid to the M-15 Odessa-Reni highway. In particular, a dimensional and weight control post will start working near the Mayaki-Udobnoye checkpoint.
