Ukrainian farmers sowed three quarters of winter grain
As of October 25 of the current year, agricultural producers of Ukraine have sown 3.6 million hectares with winter cereals, or 76% of the forecast. This is stated in the notification of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, writes agronews.ua.
Thus, 3.1 million hectares, or 79%, of wheat were sown, 390,000 hectares, or 58%, of barley, 74,000 hectares, or 86%, of rye.
"In the previous week, 836,000 hectares of winter crops were sown for grain. Among the agricultural leaders of Mykolayiv region and Odesa region, they planted almost 150,000 hectares each," the ministry said.
Kyiv Oblast and Chernihiv Oblast completed sowing of winter grain crops, 141,000 and 131,000 ha were sown there, respectively. Ternopil Region, Khmelnytskyi Region and Poltava Region are close to completion.
Agricultural producers of all regions of Ukraine completed the sowing of winter rape, which was sown on 999,000 hectares, or 104% of the forecast.
